You have in your possession, right now, the most powerful tool you could ever wish for to guide you in your business, and your life. It’s your intuition. You know, that quiet whisper in the back of your mind nudging you in a particular direction, or to take a particular action.
But, how often do you truly pay attention and follow what your intuition is saying? If you’re like me, you’ve struggle with this. In the past, I used to sense that nudge, but ignored it in pursuit of some other bright, shiny, object. I’d suffer silently knowing that something was “off” but continuing to do what I “thought” I “should” do. Not only was it painful to experience, but it was really hard on my business. It’s impossible to build anything sustainable if there’s a “should” at the foundation.
Following your intuition isn’t some “airy-fairy” concept that has no place in business. It’s the exact opposite… that is, if you’re a spiritually based entrepreneur interested in making a difference, while making money, too.
I can’t help but think of the numerous stories I heard from the contestants in the Transformational Author Writing Contest. Over and over again, I heard them say they don’t usually open emails from certain lists they are on, but the day my invitation arrived about the Transformational Author program, they were prompted to not just open the email, but read it and take action. And, some of them went all the way to win prizes in the writing contest! It’s awe-inspiring to see how their journeys unfolded in way they never dreamed possible.
They were acting on intuition. It’s the subtle nudge that says, “pick up the phone and call that person,” “open this email and read it now,” “go to that event,” “write down the thought that just popped into your mind,” “register that domain,” etc. I could go on … but, I know you get the idea.
So, here’s a tip you can use right away to help you access and act on your intuition. The next time you’re aware of a spontaneous thought running through your mind, stop to inquire and ask yourself what that thought is about.
Sometimes it’ll be your mind doing its job of running non-stop, but you’ll discover other times when your “fleeting” thought is a true, intuitive “hit” that is worth paying attention to and perhaps acting on.
As you tune into your intuition more, please be GENTLE with yourself. Don’t expect to be a master overnight … that’s impossible. Yet, it’s VERY possible to make a conscious decision to look for (and respond to) those nudges that are pointing you to your next step.
It’ll be exciting to see where your intuition leads …
