What is a Signature System?
A signature system is essentially the steps that you use with your clients to help them achieve certain results.
It’s a very powerful thing because people love systems. It gives your prospective clients confidence that you have a process in place that works. And it makes it easier for you to sell your services, because you’ve just taken something intangible like coaching and made it concrete and easy to understand.
The other wonderful thing about signature systems is that they are the key to earning multiple streams of income, and moving beyond one-to-one coaching. Once you’ve created your system, you can package it in different ways, at different price points, with different levels of access to you. And in doing so, you can create multiple streams of income, including leveraged and passive income.
You’ll hear other people talk about signature systems and how to sell your expertise. They talk about sharing the steps that you follow, and as I said that’s very important because people love step-by-step systems.
But there’s a big missing piece.
You need to infuse your voice and message into it and create what I call your Standout Signature System.
You see, it’s not enough to sell your process. Because, let’s face it. Many people in your niche are basically selling the same thing. To truly stand out and be unique, you have to find your voice and infuse it into everything that you do.
I’m not just talking about your marketing message. I’m talking about your Core Messages.
What are Core Messages?
These are the messages that tell people what you’re all about. They show people what you stand for in your business and even in your life. They express your values and your value. They are what make you memorable and unique. They create your distinct voice. And once you have your Core Messages you want to infuse them in everything you say and do.
Including your Standout Signature System.
Even if you’re in a competitive niche, you can stand out. But you need to find your voice and package it along with your process in your unique Standout Signature System.
Let me share a quick story. I was working with a very successful coach who came to me because she wanted to earn more leveraged income online.
She had spent the past two years investing tens of thousands of dollars in leading gurus to learn more about marketing. And she was feeling very frustrated and overwhelmed.
And in talking to her we realized something very important. She was so inundated with marketing tactics that she lost her voice. She used to have a loyal following of people who really got her and bought from her and followed everything she did. But amidst all of her focus on marketing, she lost touch with her voice and what she stood for. And that’s what connected people to her.
