Why is LinkedIn so important? LinkedIn is important for business owners because all other businesses are there, and it has become the leading global network for professionals. Why is LinkedIn so powerful? It is easy to navigate – we know what we get when we go there. Also, we see all the information we want in an easily readable format. What are 3 areas that we need to pay special attention to on LinkedIn?
- Your headshot. You want to make sure you have a profile picture and that it is a professional looking photo of yourself.
- Your title/headline. You want a headline that speaks about what you do and how you help your clients.
- Your contact information. You want potential connections to have an easy and effective way to get hold of you
In general, to get the most out of LinkedIn, you want to complete your profile with as much information as possible. What do you need to put in your title section? You want to tell people how you can help them. Also, you want to put a few keywords related to what you do in there. You can also put a few characters and icons to separate keywords and help people absorb information better. How about the summary section? Most people read the summary, so after reading your summary and headlines, people will contact you. However, people may not try to initiate any further contact. Your summary is the place where people will make their decision whether or not to contact you for more information. How effective is to put your blogs on LinkedIn? Most platforms want you to stay with them, and you will earn more credibility if people can find you on LinkedIn and see your blogs. Add your skills: It is important for people to see your skills and this is a chance for you to showcase what you bring to the table. Endorsements are important. They help to really highlight your skills and experiences. When you have your skills listed and people endorse you, then you earn more credibility and authority. The Interest section is also important. You want to connect and work with people that you like and trust. How do we use our profile to engage with people? Accept invitations and start talking to people, send a response to people, and offer to endorse them. The other thing you can do is to comment on posts, other connections’ comments, and group discussions. Those are the best ways to get people to see your profile . Go ahead and optimize your linkedin profile today.
